THE CHUAN × Jacky Tsai Year of the Snake Limited Edition

In 2024, THE CHUAN partners with contemporary artist Jacky Tsai for the first time to present a limited edition release for the Year of the Snake — a collaboration that merges Chinese symbolism with the craft language of single malt whisky.

Under the theme of transformation and renewal, Tsai constructs an imaginary golden serpent through the deconstruction of distillery elements: the nosing glass becomes a tasting tongue, barley transforms into the flickering snake’s tongue, while the body is formed by three oak casks, intertwined with copper stills and flavour motifs from whisky-making.

Through this visual alchemy, the industrial vocabulary of whisky production is reassembled into a living mythological form — a flowing creature that embodies time, maturation and rebirth.

Rooted in the atmosphere of Mount Emei and expressed through Tsai’s signature East–West visual language, the work becomes a dialogue between heritage, craftsmanship and contemporary culture.
