The Project: A Garden of Vibrant Dreams

Spring 2014 saw Tsai team up with leading Chinese luxury label Shanghai Tang to create a series of apparel and artworks inspired by the beauty of nature to celebrate the brand’s 20th anniversary.

Titled ‘A Garden of Vibrant Dreams’, the high profile collaboration saw Tsai produce original art pieces based around six themes: The Lotus Porcelain, The Ginger Flower, The Flying Tiger, The Petrol Rainbow, The Floral Play and The Carved Dragon. Filled with colourful energy, the imagery for these pieces sought to reflect the optimism of modern China. They were the inspiration for a series of limited edition screen prints titled ‘The Shanghai Tang Series’.
