Jacky Tsai × D1 London Spirits

At the invitation of founder Dominic Limbrey, Jacky Tsai collaborated with D1 London Spirits on its award-winning London Gin and Potato Vodka. An early collaboration in Tsai’s career, the project brought two of his skull compositions into British spirits packaging.

Launched in 2014, D1 London Gin features Tsai’s Floral Skull in blue. The transparent glass allows the intricate composition to be seen through the spirit, giving the artwork a different presence as the bottle is turned. The gin received Master medals in the Super Premium and Contemporary categories at The Gin Masters 2014.

The collaboration expanded in 2015 with D1 Potato Vodka, featuring Stained Glass Skull. Its richly coloured patterns create a distinct counterpart to the blue gin bottle, with the artwork also extending across the presentation box. The vodka later received a Master medal at The Vodka Masters 2019.

Both spirits launched with an initial six-week exclusive at Harvey Nichols. Together, they record an early exploration of how Tsai’s imagery could move beyond the gallery and become part of objects encountered in everyday life.
