Jacky Tsai × Tech21 — Chinese New Year Edition

For Chinese New Year 2017, Jacky Tsai collaborated with Tech21 on an artist edition of the Evo Elite case for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, offered exclusively through Apple.

The design brings together blossoms, birds and playful figures in a richly layered composition. Warm reds and golds sit alongside vivid blue and green details, carrying Tsai’s dialogue between Chinese decorative traditions and contemporary imagery onto an object used every day.

Working at this intimate scale, the artwork turns the phone’s surface into a small pictorial world, with details that reveal themselves through close looking.

Behind the scenes
