Alongside Reincarnation, Jacky Tsai’s first solo museum exhibition in Southeast Asia, MOCA BANGKOK presented an official merchandise collection that carried the artist’s imagery beyond the galleries.
Apparel, tote bags, notebooks, mugs and phone grips brought his richly layered visual world into everyday use. The collection connected the experience of seeing an artwork in the museum with the possibility of taking a small part of that world home.

From the painted image to the everyday object
Tsai’s floral skulls, blue-and-white porcelain imagery and bird-and-flower compositions appear across the collection. Each object offers a different encounter with the artwork: a panoramic image becomes a tote bag, while the detail of a skull composition is adapted to a notebook cover or a mug.
The designs preserve the colour, humour and cross-cultural imagery of Tsai’s practice at a more intimate scale.

A collection within the museum
The shop photographs record the collection as it was presented during the exhibition, with garments, bags, stationery and boxed mugs displayed together. Alongside them, the original design visuals show how the artworks were translated into individual products.

Art to wear
Hoodies and T-shirts brought Tsai’s skull imagery into clothing, translating the detail and colour of his work into wearable pieces. The collection also included phone grips, extending the imagery into smaller everyday accessories.
