Jacky Tsai × JD 101HOME
Art & Lifestyle Curator — Bringing Art into Everyday Living

28th Sep 2026
Shanghai, China

Jacky Tsai joins JD 101HOME as an Art & Lifestyle Curator, presenting two sculptures, Floral Horse and 点石成金, at its first flagship space in Shanghai, which opened on 28 September 2026.

Through these works, Tsai brings his dialogue between Eastern traditions and Western visual culture into spaces shaped around everyday living. Set among gardens, architecture and domestic settings, the sculptures invite visitors to encounter contemporary art as part of their surroundings.

Floral Horse combines the weathered forms of traditional Chinese Taihu stones with an abundance of flowers and butterflies. The contrast between stone and blossom brings together the passage of time and the vitality of life, reimagining a familiar cultural language through a contemporary sculptural form. Within its planted setting, the work creates an encounter between sculpture, nature and the home.

In 点石成金, Tsai brings together the hand of God from Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam and a Buddhist hand gesture. White and gold forms meet at the fingertips, expressing an exchange between Eastern and Western cultures. The golden touch suggests transformation, reflecting Tsai’s exploration of how Chinese cultural ideas can influence a wider visual world.

A specially commissioned film accompanies the project, featuring Tsai alongside both sculptures as he reflects on cultural identity, artistic practice and the relationship between art and home.

“Everyone is an artist in their own home. Life itself is art.” — Jacky Tsai
