Augmented Reality — Bringing Art to Life A new way to encounter Jacky Tsai’s art
23rd Jul 2021 Shanghai
For the first time, Jacky Tsai introduced augmented reality systematically across a major solo exhibition, adding a new dimension to the encounter between artwork and audience. At his Shanghai exhibition, visitors could use their phones to bring selected works to life, interact with them in real time and discover the stories behind the images.

At the heart of the experience was Parody of Jay’s Music (《翻玩范特西》), the Jay Chou-inspired painting. Seen through a visitor’s phone, its richly layered world became animated, revealing another way to explore the work. Alongside it, the Floral Horse extended Tsai’s visual language into motion, connecting the physical exhibition with a digital world.
